Sugar River Mills - Cranking!!

This week, we commissioned the 40 collector solar hot water system for Sugar River Mills apartments in historic downtown Claremont, NH.

The project had a couple of hurdles early on due to historical district reviews, but this was short-lived with the use of some reliable renderings and roof imagery.

The project got underway in late September with the delivery of 40 Schuco solar hot water panels and the racking systems. We first took care of all the supply/return piping and slab coring, before construction of structural components on the roof. The collectors and racking took about 3 days for a couple of guys to install, and Charlie made light work of all the tank manifolding and pump station work.

As we write this, the system has reached 110F yesterday in the top of the tanks, which is about 1,200 gallons of storage with about 2,500 gallons per day of hot water use at 140 F. Should be perfect for the summer!
